Particle morphology and distribution are important parameters for pharmaceutical applications. Multiple samples can be imaged in batch and automatically be analyzed, reducing operator bias.
Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with batch generation and automated particle analysis software is ideal for characterizing particle size and morphology. Using particle analysis ParticleMetric software for the Phenom SEM, false color is used to indicate individual particles while the software compiles statistics for the sample.
