Wettability alteration in carbonate reservoir

Summary:

It is estimated that 50% to 60% of the world’s oil is held in carbonate reservoirs. The average recovery factor i.e. the ratio of recoverable oil to the volume of the oil originally in place – for all reservoir types is about 35%. However, it is known that the recovery factors are higher for sandstone reservoirs than for carbonates.
