Automated Gunshot Residue Analysis Using Scanning Electron Microscopy
Meticulous collection, analysis, and interpretation of material obtained from…
Product Brochure
Gunshot residue analysis (GSR) is performed to determine if a firearm has been used in a crime. Automated Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) is an established technique to search for these GSR particles. Typically this technique is used to search for the presence of Pb, Ba, Sb particles but Pb-free primers do exist so being able to look for Ti and Zn is a requirement as well.
Perception GSR, is the first dedicated solution that can run automated GSR analysis. Quickly obtain reliable and accurate results from even miniscule pieces of evidence with an included calibration sample. As a system designed for ease of use, the ParticleX GSR is the perfect tool for your forensic lab and any additional trace analysis.

ParticleX Gunshot Residue
Package Features
ParticleX GSR, based on the popular Perception software, delivers automated gunshot residue analysis. An easy-to-use recipe builder allows you to set a standard operating procedure (SOP) that is customizable for your lab and workflow. The automated software is also designed to easily revisit particles for validation and can create an automated report complaint with the ASTM E1588-17 standard with a single click. ParticleX GSR can also be used for many other forensic applications such as ballistics, paint analysis, fiber characterization and more, making this the perfect solution for every forensic laboratory.
